Poltrona Frau Peek-a-Book

The base structure of the Peek-a-Book desk is made of solid ash, stained mocha or wenge, with a triangular cross-section. This forms three trapezoidal frames connected by high-quality wooden fittings. The front of the two drawers is clad in MDF and covered in Pelle Frau® leather to match the top. The inner structure of the drawers is made of solid ash stained wenge. The desktop, drawer front, side panels and rear compartment doors are covered in Pelle Frau® leather ColorSphere, with the desktop produced using a special technique with no visible seams. Behind the two central drawers, the Peek-a-Book desk has side doors that reveal a hidden space. These compartments are prepared for cable routing and can be used for power strips or for electrical wiring with Schuko sockets or USB ports. There is also the option of integrating an induction charger for smartphones beneath the leather cover of the top, highlighted by an embossed logo. The Peek-a-Book desk, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, unites the elegance and comfort typical of a Poltrona Frau office and brings them into the home. Lazzeroni conceived a generous top and a design that blends seamlessly with the materials, warmth and design language of his home collections, without sacrificing the functions of a "real" office desk. The Peek-a-Book desk consists of a simple poplar plywood panel that is covered in Pelle Frau® leather and bent to form the base and the writing surface and to enclose the two drawers. This creates the visual impression of a precious leather-bound book, symbolising the true function of the object: the desk is the place where ideas, thoughts and memories are produced and collected, the most intimate and personal space for those who study or work there.
