Punt Mobles was founded in 1980 by the Valencian designer Vicent Martínez and the designer Lola Castelló. “The first phase of Punt Mobles was pure passion for design, a life project that was in a certain way heedless. This first phase must be placed in its historical context. Young designers becoming entrepreneurs without giving up their identity as designers, in a Valencian society in which design was neither understood nor appreciated, except by a sensitive minority.” The Collection by Punt comprises unique pieces of furniture that captivate with their functionality and elegance. A milestone in Punt's history is the "Literatura Clásica" bookshelf, designed by Vicent in 1985. This revolutionary product called the traditional Shelving system into question and set new standards in design. It offers an innovative solution for storing books in a double row by combining two superimposed panels on castors. "This bookcase was born to solve the problem of storing books, making reading easier for book lovers", explained Vicent. This innovation can of course still be found today in shelving such as the STOCKHOLM shelf to be found. Punt has made a name for itself over the years, winning the National Design Award in 1997.
