Poltrona Frau Mesa Due

In addition to the 135 cm diameter Mesa table with a slate top and Pietra Serena sandstone column, there are further variants that extend the range of uses and bring Mesa Due to life: a 120 cm diameter bistro table, dining tables of 150 or 180 cm diameter and a rectangular table measuring 260 x 110 cm. The table top is available in various materials, including wood, leather and marble. The wood variants come with ash veneer in wenge or mocha. The round tables of 120 cm and 150 cm diameter can also be covered in Pelle Frau® SC leather. In this case the top has bevelled edges, with the lower part lacquered in a black textured finish and the upper part covered in leather. All models except the bistro table can be fitted with a marble top in glossy or semi-gloss Calacatta Oro or Fior di Pesco. The 180 cm round table can be complemented with a lazy Susan turntable, consisting of two tops of different diameters rotating on an aluminium mechanism with steel balls. The base of the Mesa Due table can be made either of grey Pietra Serena sandstone or of steel covered in Cuoio Saddle Extra leather with contrasting stitching or Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather with tone-on-tone stitching. The steel base ensures stability through internal counterweights and is fitted at the end with a moulded plastic cap to protect the floor. The connection between the table top and the column is made via a black lacquered steel tube with a three-armed cross and adjustable supports for levelling the top. The round table (150 cm and 180 cm) with marble top has a raised support with a five-armed crosspiece. The Mesa Due tables (with leather and saddle leather column and wooden top, or with Pelle Frau® leather cover) can be fitted on request with a retractable table power strip, which the customer can specify when ordering. Poltrona Frau has carried out interesting research around the Mesa project and, based on the original drawings by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, created new versions of the original table, known as Mesa and Mesa Due. These two simple geometric forms – a circle and a cone – together produce a table with a strong personality and a powerful graphic symbol.
