Roda
Roda was founded in 1990 as a company specialising in the manufacture of high-quality outdoor furniture. Its success rests on the passion, experience and intuition of its founder Roberto Pompa, one of the first Italians to develop the new concept of the indoor garden: an indoor garden that dissolves the ever more vanishing boundary between inside and outside.
The LAZE collection
The RODA LAZE collection brings comfort, design and functionality together in a striking, curved silhouette reminiscent of a large leaf. Characteristic is the combination of a stainless steel structure and taut polyester or recycled acrylic filaments, which support the cushions while allowing air to circulate – ideal for hot summer days. The series includes lounge chairs with a low or high backrest as well as a swing version; the range is completed by a dining chair and a large footstool. Thanks to the many colour and material combinations of frame and "rope", LAZE can be configured very individually – with the focus on a particularly inviting, enveloping seating experience.
The BRICK collection by RODA
The RODA BRICK collection shown below puts wood centre stage: an extendable outdoor dining table whose top is built up from teak elements like bricks. A rhythmic grid of geometrically precise joints defines the entire look and makes the surface unmistakable. The clean, sturdy base structure sets a deliberately restrained counterpoint, emphasising the graphic effect of the table top. For added flexibility, a butterfly extension system stows the leaves invisibly beneath the table top and extends the table in no time. RODA notes that, owing to the complex construction, slight natural movement in the wood may occur when directly exposed to the weather — placement in covered areas such as verandas is therefore recommended. The BRICK extending table was also honoured with a special mention at the XXIV Compasso d'Oro in 2016.
