Zanotta Shiki

Inspired by the plain simplicity of the traditional Japanese futon, this sofa recalls the appearance of a thickly padded mattress resting on an upholstered wooden base. The refined quilted motif frames the generous seat cushion, embellished by the hand-crafted details of the upholstery's nuances. The design is characterised by the dynamic alternation of different thicknesses and heights that mimic an urban skyline, an architectural composition created from harmoniously contrasting materials, surfaces and volumes.
