Hard polyurethane bases, matt lacquered in the shades Talcum, Caramel and Algae or gloss lacquered in the shades Talcum, Caramel Metallic and Algae Metallic, combined with MDF tops in the same matt lacquer colours Talcum, Caramel and Algae. Zaven – Marco Zavagno and Enrica Cavarzan Starting from the drawing of a round table with a central leg, the designers developed the concept of modularity to design a collection comprising two tables with round tops – 135 and 160 cm in diameter – and two oval tables with 230 and 260 cm tops. The focus of the design lies on the structural base, conceived as a module to be used individually or in multiple compositions with two asymmetrical legs: a cylinder derived from a small part of the circumference is used to create a leg with a restrained yet striking shape, one that has a recognisable style while remaining functional for developing an entire collection. The leg can in fact be used on its own where the dimensions of the top allow, or together with another to give the top greater stability. The second base is created by combining two or more modules, producing an asymmetrical visual balance. The project is rounded off by the careful selection of colours, including contemporary nuances such as powder, caramel and seaweed green, and by the finishes: the MDF top is always matt, while the hard polyurethane base can be ordered not only in matt lacquer but also in gloss or metallic lacquer in the same colour as the top, creating a contrast and letting light play across the surfaces to produce fascinating shadows and reflections. As a result, the table appears different depending on the viewing point and its interaction with light.
