Zanotta Servo

Once again, this is a timeless object whose form corresponds perfectly to its function. It has a stable base with only a very small footprint; a slender vertical rod with a knob at the top to hold it by, and a small round table at the ideal height for setting things down. In other words Servomuto, light and easy to move, is the worthy successor of Franco Albini's essential, stylish and balanced Cicognino. It belongs to a large group of objects that all evolved from the ashtrays and umbrella stands explicitly designed by the Castiglioni brothers as furnishings for the Splügen Bräu pub/restaurant in Milan in 1961.
