Zanotta Mezzadro

How great those years between the 1950s and 1960s must have been, when there was a desire to change and rebuild this small, old world. How great those years must have been for two closely bonded brothers who were curious and intuitive – the years of a thoroughbred entrepreneur who had the intuition and courage of someone determined to conquer this world for himself. In 1970, Zanotta put into production the 'sprung metal seat', metaphorically named 'Mezzadro', which the brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni had designed in 1957 (together with the Sella seat, in production since 1983) for the exhibition 'Forms and Colours in Today's Homes' organised at Villa Olmo in Como.
