MOROSO Impossible Wood

Impossible Wood – designed by Nipa Doshi & Jonathan Levien for Moroso – is more than just a chair: it is an experiment in form and material that pushes the boundaries of design. The name 'Impossible Wood' alludes to the original idea of creating a chair from bent wood – a plan that proved technically impossible and thus led to a creative reinterpretation.

Instead of natural wood, the seat shell is made of a special polypropylene which, through an innovative injection-moulding process, acquires a warm, lightly textured surface reminiscent of wood while offering the advantages of a technical material. It is combined with a robust tubular steel frame available in various finishes – lacquered, chromed or in AISI 304 stainless steel – uniting functionality with elegant form.

The collection comprises stackable seating models with and without armrests, distinguished by their harmonious silhouette and vertical lines. Whether as a stand-alone piece in the dining or living area, in a café, on the terrace or in the garden – Impossible Wood creates a union of playful lightness and technical precision.
