GUBI - MULTI-LITE Pendant
The Multi-Lite pendant light pays tribute to the golden era of Danish design and is distinguished by its characteristic form with two opposing, movable outer shades. This unique configuration allows individual installations and a wide variety of lighting possibilities in a room. By adjusting the shades independently, the Multi-Lite pendant can be adapted into numerous arrangements, creating the flexibility to direct the light upwards or downwards or to produce an artistic, asymmetrical lighting effect.
The idea for the Multi-Lite goes back to 1972, when Louis Weisdorf departed from his usual design method of using repetitive elements. Instead he embraced variety, resulting in a design in which two cylindrical forms serve as the basis and are surrounded by a metal ring securing two quarter-spherical shades. This combination produces an iconic design with versatile applications.
