The GUBI Copacabana lounge chair, designed by Mathieu Matégot in 1955, is a genuine design statement that convinces with its flowing lines and sculptural lightness. The construction looks as though it had been drawn with a single sweeping stroke of a pencil – a hallmark of Matégot's creative signature.
The frame of bent tubular steel encloses the round seat and the characteristic backrest in perforated Rigitulle metal that is found in many of his works. The continuous, curved rear legs complete the harmonious form and underline the organic elegance of the design.
The Copacabana lounge chair is available in black and orange and is suitable for indoor as well as outdoor use.
