The MR01 Initial outdoor lounge chair by GUBI is an elegant fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern material innovation. Designed by Mathias Steen Rasmussen, this chair impresses with its low-lying wooden frame and a distinctive, nautically inspired cord seat that gives it a sculptural lightness.
For outdoor use the frame is made from FSC®-certified iroko - a durable, weather-resistant wood that retains its clear silhouette even in the open air. Like the indoor version, the MR01 Outdoor is made without screws, which underlines its pure and reduced aesthetic.
The seat and back surface consists of a custom-made high-performance polyester cord developed specifically for outdoor use. It is waterproof, UV-resistant and, thanks to an anti-deformation core, dimensionally stable, so that it does not slacken even after long use. Perfect for terraces, gardens or the pool area, where design and functionality are in harmony.
