Carl Hansen CH78 Mama Bear Chair
The creative and innovative spirit of legendary furniture designer Hans J. Wegner produced the lounge chair known as the CH78 Mama Bear in 1954. The iconic design has now been relaunched by Carl Hansen & Søn as a tribute to the man many consider the master of the chair. The CH78 lounge chair, affectionately called "Mama Bear", combines soft, body-supporting curves with dynamic geometric lines. The lounge chair is available with fabric covers in various colours. The neck cushion, with a leather cover or in matching fabric, is available as an accessory. The lounge chair is a sculptural masterpiece equally at home in a living room or a hotel lobby.
The CH78 has legs and armrests in solid wood; the seat and backrest are made of solid beech with foam upholstery. It is available in seven versions: soaped oak, clear-lacquered oak, oiled oak, white-oiled oak or black-lacquered oak, as well as clear-lacquered or oiled walnut. The cover can be chosen from eight fabric groups and three leather groups. The neck cushion is available at extra cost, in fabric or leather.
