Ethnicraft Dunes rug
The Dunes rug by Ethnicraft combines traditional craftsmanship with a soft, natural and at the same time elegant presence. Its warm Sand colouring and the characterful high-pile surface create a calm atmosphere and lend living, bedroom or lounge areas additional warmth and comfort.
The Dunes rug was created in collaboration between the Ethnicraft Design Studio and Ashtari Carpets. Every rug is made by hand using the traditional Persian knotting technique. This method produces a deliberately looser, higher pile and provides a pleasantly soft yet lively surface structure.
Locally sourced sheep's wool, spun by hand, is used for the Dunes rug. The rug therefore unites natural character, durability and a high-quality textile structure. Its restrained design looks casual and homely while at the same time having a refined, high-quality appearance.
Because every Dunes rug is made entirely by hand, slight differences in colour, structure and dimensions can occur. These individual variations are a characteristic feature of craft production and make every rug a one-of-a-kind piece.
The natural Sand colouring combines particularly readily with wood, natural stone, linen and other natural materials. The Dunes rug is therefore excellently suited as a calm basis for modern, minimalist and timelessly furnished interiors.
Material
The Dunes rug is made from 100 % locally sourced, hand-spun sheep's wool. Wool has a pleasantly soft and natural feel while being hard-wearing and durable. The traditional Persian hand-knotting technique creates the characteristic loose high-pile structure of the Dunes rug.
