Ethnicraft Dunes rug
The Dunes rug by Ethnicraft combines traditional craftsmanship with a soft, natural and at the same time elegant appearance. Its warm Sand colour and characterful high-pile surface create a calm atmosphere and give living, sleeping or lounge areas additional warmth and comfort.
The Dunes rug was created in collaboration between the Ethnicraft Design Studio and Ashtari Carpets. Each rug is made by hand using the traditional Persian knotting technique. This work produces a deliberately looser, higher pile and provides a pleasantly soft yet lively surface structure.
Locally sourced sheep's wool, spun by hand, is used for the Dunes rug. The rug thus combines natural character, hard-wearing quality and a high-grade textile structure. Its restrained design looks casual and homely, while at the same time having a refined and high-quality appearance.
As each Dunes rug is made entirely by hand, slight differences in colour, structure and dimensions may occur. These individual variations are a characteristic feature of the craft production and make every rug one of a kind.
The natural Sand colour can be combined particularly versatilely with wood, natural stone, linen and other natural materials. This makes the Dunes rug an excellent calm foundation for modern, minimalist and timelessly furnished interiors.
Material
The Dunes rug is made of 100 % locally sourced, hand-spun sheep's wool. Wool has a pleasantly soft and natural feel and is at the same time resilient and durable. The traditional Persian hand-knotting technique creates the characteristic loose high-pile structure of the Dunes rug.
