more JAKU table | round
The round JAKU top stands on the same ceramic base as the oval table — three parts in a frame made of anthracite powder-coated steel, together 75 cm wide and 50 cm deep. Because the base sits centrally with no legs in the way, the table can be seated all the way round to the edge.
The glued solid wood top is 2.8 cm thick and continuous. The ceramic is available in Bronze or Anthracite, with the surface oiled and waxed or matt lacquered depending on the wood tone. Oak and ash are available in eight standard tones, eleven special oak tones, and American walnut.
For the centre of the table there is a removable Lazy Susan — a round turntable that sits loosely on the table top and can be turned by hand. Bowls, platters and bottles stand on it in the middle, and anyone who wants something turns it towards themselves instead of asking for it or reaching across the table. This works particularly well at a round table: everyone sits an equal distance from the centre, and the turntable is equally easy to reach from every seat.
It is not a fixed part of the table but is placed on top and can be removed again at any time when the whole surface is needed. Three diameters are available: Ø 70 cm, Ø 90 cm and Ø 110 cm.
