Premium visitor and conference chair with a distinctive aesthetic. Its special feature is the accentuated separation of shell and frame. The moulded wood seat shell shows, in the cut of its surfaces, formal analogies to automotive design, translated by Thonet into the material wood. The ergonomic shape offers a high level of seating comfort in two Upholstery Variants: a clean-lined, taut version and a relaxed, softer one. The use of different veneers and stain tones, as well as different Upholstery Covers in leather or fabric, allows the character of the chair to be changed and adapted to any interior. Different back heights and base frames are also available.
The THONET S 847 DWE swivel chair is the version with a high back. It stands on a four-star swivel base in polished aluminium with Glides and a tilt mechanism; the shell returns to its starting position via an automatic reset function. The moulded plywood Seat Shell is available in oak, or in walnut for a surcharge. The clean-lined, taut comfort upholstery and the relaxed comfort upholstery with deliberate waviness are available to choose from. The swivel base is available for a surcharge in chrome-plated aluminium, in a stainless steel finish, or powder-coated.

Comfort Upholstery: The comfort upholstery is a particularly elaborate upholstery construction: depending on the model, a fine non-woven layer is additionally sewn in. This makes the cushion feel softer to sit on and, at the same time, more durable, as the cover is loaded more evenly.
Relaxed Comfort Upholstery: The relaxed comfort upholstery is the softer, more casual variant of the comfort upholstery. Its cover is deliberately not taut but falls into gentle waves – this is intentional and part of the character of this upholstery, as are seat impressions that remain visible after standing up. Those who prefer a smooth, taut look should choose the standard comfort upholstery.
