A high-quality visitor and conference chair with a distinctive aesthetic. Its special feature is the accentuated separation of shell and frame. The moulded wood seat shell has surface cuts that echo automotive design, translated by Thonet into the material wood. The body-friendly shape offers high seating comfort in two upholstery variants: a clean, taut version and a relaxed, softer one. The character of the chair can be adapted to any interior through different veneers and stain tones as well as various upholstery covers in leather or fabric. Different backrest heights and base frames are also available.
The S 847 DW swivel chair stands on a four-arm swivel base in polished aluminium with glides and a tilt mechanism; the shell returns to its starting position via an automatic reset function. The moulded plywood seat shell comes in oak, or walnut for an additional charge. Available options are the clean, taut comfort upholstery and the relaxed comfort upholstery with deliberate rippling. The swivel base is also available in chrome-plated aluminium, stainless-steel look, or powder-coated finish for an additional charge. With a high backrest, the model is called S 847 DWE.

Comfort upholstery: The comfort upholstery is a particularly elaborate upholstery construction: depending on the model, a fine non-woven layer is additionally sewn in. This makes the cushion feel softer while sitting and, at the same time, more durable, as the cover is loaded more evenly.
Relaxed comfort upholstery: The relaxed comfort upholstery is the softer, more casual variant of the comfort upholstery. Its cover is deliberately not taut but settles into slight ripples – this is intentional and part of the character of this upholstery, as are seat impressions that remain visible after standing up. Anyone who prefers a smooth, taut finish should choose the normal comfort upholstery.
