Carl Hansen VLA77 Foyer Sofa
The Foyer Sofa, designed in 1945 by Vilhelm Lauritzen, consists of three parts in solid oak and is the result of simple Danish design combined with select craftsmanship. The timeless design has been revised to meet modern needs for functionality and comfort. It is characterised by a gently tapering frame and expertly tailored leather upholstery with hand-finished buttons. The Foyer Sofa stands out through the interplay of wood and upholstery, with the backrest appearing almost to float. Simple yet expressive, the legendary Foyer Sofa combines function and shape in a refined way. The Foyer series was designed exclusively in 1945 by Vilhelm Lauritzen for Radiohuset in Copenhagen. The one-of-a-kind piece is now accessible to a wider audience for the first time.
The VLA77 is made in oak and available in two finishes: soaped or oiled. The cover can be chosen from eight fabric groups and three leather groups. The buttons are always finished in the same upholstery as the sofa.
