Carl Hansen CH53 Hocker
Hans J. Wegner created the CH53 Footstool in 1966, clearly reflecting his passion for first-class craftsmanship and everyday functionality. With a solid wood Frame and a seat of hand-woven paper cord, the stool's simple and elegant Shape makes it an ideal complement to the CH44 Lounge Chair, though it also cuts an excellent figure on its own – whether in the hallway, bedroom or kitchen. The CH53 Footstool is available in two heights, and the low version is the companion piece to the CH44.
The CH53 has a solid wood Frame and a hand-woven seat of paper cord in natural or black. The Frame is available in beech soaped, clear-lacquered, oiled or lacquered in colour in the CHS Colours (gloss 5, soft), as well as in oak soaped, clear-lacquered, oiled, white-oiled or black-lacquered (gloss 20, NCS S9000-N). Oak has a clearly visible wood grain when lacquered; beech, when lacquered, has only a minimum of grain. The stool is available in two heights: 39 and 43 cm.
