The OW449 Colonial Table by Ole Wanscher from 1964 shows clearly what drove Wanscher: giving classic furniture types a modern expression and a clever function. The square table top is crafted from veneer, precisely joined and raised at the corners – a detail that gives the flat table contour and holds the top within the frame. The frame construction picks up the geometric language of the entire Colonial series, so the table forms a unit with the Colonial Chair OW149, the Sofa OW149-2 and the Footstool OW149F.
The table top of the OW449 is made of veneer, the frame of solid wood. The table is available in six versions: oak clear lacquered, oiled, white oiled or black lacquered, as well as walnut clear lacquered or oiled.
