more VOLTA table
VOLTA is uncompromisingly linear — yet lives from one detail: the mitred legs, which join the frame without a visible seam. Designed by Bernhard Müller.
The table top is a glued-board, continuous construction. Two centimetres of solid wood sit on a frame construction that gives the top a visible edge of 8.5 cm — unusually strong for a table of this restraint, and the reason VOLTA looks calm even in long lengths. The frame is likewise solid wood, with a foot dimension of 8.5 x 8.5 cm and a knee clearance height of 66 cm.
The surfaces are available oiled and waxed or matt lacquered, in 20 wood tones from oak, ash, smoked oak and American walnut. Other woods, sizes, widths and tones on request.
"For us, most beautiful in 100% walnut." — more
This version has a fixed top without an extension system; the grain runs lengthwise, i.e. in the direction of the long edge. From a length over 220 cm, the top is no longer made from a single piece — it then has a cross joint. This applies to all sizes from 250 cm upwards.
