Sometimes even a design language cannot do without the alphabet: in the AVAR by Bernhard Müller, two opposing A shapes carry a calm, full-length solid wood top. The legs splay outwards and the top visibly rests on them: a table that does not hide its construction.
The solid wood base picks up the finish of the top, so the table appears as one piece in a single material. Two angled supports each form an A and carry the top at two points.
The edge-glued, full-length solid wood top is 2.8 cm thick with corners rounded to R 5, and the grain runs lengthways. It is available in 21 wood tones, from natural oak through the special tones to American walnut, with an oiled and waxed or matt lacquered surface. Other woods and colour tones, as well as top depths of up to 130 cm, are possible on request.
