Elegant, comfortable and available in a variety of versions: the S 160 range was developed for furnishing event spaces, canteens and residential-style contract areas. The chairs stack closely (up to 17 units) and feature a connecting mechanism that links them together easily, securely, space-savingly and without tools (Thonet patent). With a low or high back and various upholstery options, the S 160 offers a broad range of applications. A variant with wooden chair legs (160) turns the popular multi-purpose chair into a residential-style chair for the contract sector, for example for homely cafés. There is also a delicate and particularly comfortable bar stool (S 160 H) for the hospitality sector and for working at high tables.
The THONET S 161 chair stands on a chrome-plated four-legged frame made of tubular steel and carries a polypropylene seat shell. It is offered unupholstered or with mirror-upholstered seat. It is stackable. Plastic glides are included as standard; felt glides are available for an additional charge.

Mirror upholstery: With mirror upholstery, only the inner side is upholstered – precisely the area where you sit and lean back. The rear of the seat shell remains visible in wood or plastic. This keeps the chair light and delicate while noticeably improving seating comfort.
Row connection: Chairs designed for row linking can be joined side by side into fixed rows of seating without tools. This is required wherever large numbers of people sit together: in halls, churches, canteens or conference rooms. The Thonet connector is patented and meets the DIN EN 14703 standard for row seating, including panic release – in an emergency, the row can be cleared quickly and safely.
