CENA dining table - Morpho by Tomorrowland
The Cena dining table by Ethnicraft is named after the Italian word for “dinner” and turns every gathering at the table into a moment of its own.
The curved base takes up the branching of roots and boughs and carries the round top seemingly effortlessly. The top itself is inspired by Voronoi patterns — the structure that also shapes honeycombs or the markings of a giraffe.
Cena belongs to the Morpho by Tomorrowland collection, designed by the Tomorrowland Design Studio in collaboration with the architect Dieter Vander Velpen. The collection combines contemporary design with the organic spirit of Art nouveau.
At 150 cm in diameter the table comfortably seats eight people. The solid wood top is available smooth or engraved; for more contrast, there is a top in green marble or beige quartzite.
Material
The base is made from solid wood — lacquered dark brown teak or lacquered oak, each brushed. The slightly rougher surface brings out the grain and gives the wood depth. The table top is available in the same solid wood, smooth or with an engraved Voronoi pattern, as well as in green marble or beige quartzite. Natural stone and solid wood live: grain, shade and texture differ from piece to piece.
