The outdoor Aleta bar stool translates the delicate shape of a dragonfly's wing into the open air: “Aleta” is Spanish for “little wing”, and that is exactly how the narrow, widely curved back arch reads — light, mobile and precisely balanced.
Made from solid, untreated teak, which takes on a silver-grey patina outdoors over time. The encircling stainless steel ring serves as a footrest and visually ties the frame together.
Aleta belongs to the Morpho by Tomorrowland collection, designed by the Tomorrowland Design Studio in collaboration with the architect Dieter Vander Velpen. The collection combines contemporary design with the organic spirit of Art nouveau — from the fine structure of the dragonfly's wing to the curves of roots and branches.
The stool is also available without seat cushions; the cushions, with quick-drying foam and a weatherproof cover, can be added at any time.
Material
The frame is made from solid, untreated teak from Indonesia (Tectona grandis). Untreated teak weathers evenly outdoors to a silvery tone — if you want to keep the warm natural shade, oil the wood regularly. The footrest is powder-coated stainless steel in a brass finish. The seat cushions are filled with quick-drying foam and covered in weatherproof outdoor fabric.
