Hans J. Wegner is known as the "master of the chair" and designed over 500 chairs during his lifetime. The CH24 Wishbone Chair from 1949 is regarded by design lovers worldwide as Wegner's most legendary design. The chair has been coveted for generations and is admired for its simple, sculptural design language. Carl Hansen & Søn is delighted to now present this beloved chair to a younger generation of future design lovers. The CH24 Kinder Wishbone Chair follows the guidelines of the original design but has been specially reworked to achieve the correct proportions, as a simply scaled-down version would not offer the same balanced aesthetic. The chair consists of 14 components made of solid oak. It was developed in collaboration with the Wegner Design Studio and made by experienced craftsmen at Carl Hansen & Søn. More than 100 work steps are needed to produce the chair and give it its final finish. It features Wegner's characteristic hand-woven seat made of paper cord, on which an experienced craftsman works for an hour.
The children's chair is available in one version: Frame made of solid oak, oiled, with a hand-woven seat in natural paper cord. It is suitable for children from 3 years of age. As an accessory, Carl Hansen & Søn offers a matching Seat cushion (CU CH24 Child) — it is available exclusively in pigmented leather Loke 7150 from leather group A; no other covers are available for this cushion.
