Carl Hansen CH337 Dining Table
Hans J. Wegner's CH337 Dining Table from 1962 is made of solid wood. With its inviting shape and the option to extend the number of seats to eight, the table is suited both for everyday use and for festive occasions. The design is characterised by the beautifully finished elliptical table top and the elegant tapered legs. The harmonious shape of the solid table top is one of its most striking features, and thanks to the cross-running wood grain, the joint between the panels is barely visible. The horizontal rails are placed at an angle to support the wood optimally. They are shaped to be widest at the connection points with the legs, providing optimal support, and narrower where space is needed for the legs. The CH337 is one of three tables in the series with the same width but different lengths. They all have elliptical table tops and are available with up to four additional leaves, so the tables can easily be adapted to different occasions and requirements.
The CH337 has a solid wood table top and a solid wood frame, with an extension mechanism for two leaves including one black wooden support leg. It is available in eleven versions: soaped, oiled or lacquered beech; soaped, oiled, white oiled or lacquered oak; oiled or lacquered walnut; and oiled or lacquered mahogany. The insert leaves for the table centre are ordered separately and are available for an additional charge in grey MDF, black MDF or in solid wood in the same finish – one or two leaves per table. The wood grain of the insert leaves may differ from that of the dining table top.
