Carl Hansen CH101 Lounge Chair
Hans J. Wegner's CH101 Lounge Chair shows taut shapes, yet is an extremely comfortable lounge chair. It is built on an inner frame of solid beech and two arm elements, and upholstered by hand to the highest quality standards. To ensure dimensional stability, the seat and back cushions are fitted with a foam core encased in a down envelope, which further increases comfort. The leather cover is removable and has discreetly placed ventilation holes. The stainless steel flat frame consists of a longitudinal rail connected to the leg at each end via runners. Stainless steel is also used in the armrests, where it supports the armrest and conceals the upholstered top section on both the front and back, creating an interesting contrast with the upholstery. The CH101 Lounge Chair was originally designed as part of an exclusive office furniture range, and today represents some of Wegner's finest work in stainless steel. The CH100 Series was relaunched in 2008 to mark the 100th anniversary of Carl Hansen & Søn. Besides the lounge chair, the series comprises a sofa in three sizes and two coffee tables.
The CH101 has a flat frame in stainless steel and an inner frame of solid beech. The seat, back and arm cushions consist of a foam core with a down envelope. The leather cover is removable and available in leather groups A, B and C. This model is not available with a wood version or fabric covers.
