TOE Chair – versatile design object with a variable look, indoor and outdoor

The Toe Chair / TOE armchair / TOE lounge chair / TOE outdoor armchair by 101 Copenhagen is a homage to the futuristic designs of the 1970s. With its sculptural design language and its distinctive, fluted upholstery, the chair creates a unique balance between comfort and expressiveness. The open form allows a free and relaxed seating posture, while different layers of foam ensure the highest seating comfort.

The Toe Chair is available in nine exclusive cover variants – with fabrics for indoor use and hard-wearing textiles for outdoor use. The chair thus fits effortlessly into any setting: as an eye-catcher in the living room, as a stylish statement in the office or as a design object on the terrace or balcony.

The choice ranges from fine Italian nubuck leather through soft bouclé and natural linen fabrics to hard-wearing Sunproof fabrics and luxurious sheepskin. Each variant is convincing through its specific feel and appearance – for a look that is both modern and timeless.

Care instructions by material

Bouclé (Off-White, Smoked Sand, Deep Taupe)

• Absorb liquid with a clean, damp cloth.
• Do not rub; dab stains carefully instead.
• For heavier stains use a mild cleaning agent.
• Do not use abrasives or brushes, as this damages the surface.
• Clean only with the soft side of a white cotton cloth.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as bouclé may otherwise fade or be damaged.

Sheepskin (Off-White, Sandshell)

• Cleaning is possible both dry and with a damp cloth.
• If cleaned damp: use water below 40 °C.
• Use a suitable wool detergent – rinse thoroughly with clean water so that no residues remain.
• Comb the fur back into its original direction to restore the volume.
• Vacuum and air regularly.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as the fur may discolour.

Linen (White Chalk, Sand)

• Dab with a clean, damp cloth.
• Treat stains carefully with a mild cleaning agent.
• Do not rub or scour, in order to protect the fibres.
• Use only the soft side of a white cotton cloth.
• Avoid direct sunlight, as the fabric may fade.

Sunproof Fabric (Warm Ash, Taupe)

• The fabric is specially treated, water-repellent and UV-resistant.
• A protective layer prevents the absorption of dirt.
• Clean with a brush or damp cloth.
• Vacuum dust and loose dirt regularly.
• Use a gentle cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly with water.
• Resistant to stains, rain and sunlight – ideal for outdoor use.

Nubuck Leather

• Vacuum with a soft brush to remove dust and dirt.
• Do not use water, soap or leather grease – they alter the velvety surface.
• Do not use harsh cleaning agents or leather cleaners (e.g. saddle soap).
• Protect the leather from direct sun, heat and sharp objects.
• Do not soak or wet-clean, in order to preserve the structure.
