The King of Soul, incidentally, was inspired by San Francisco Bay. And that is exactly the spirit that also surrounds the BAY LOUNGE collection from the house of Gloster. That yearning for the wide world, for the many exciting experiences that might still await beyond the horizon ... But BAY LOUNGE is much more still. The collection entices with its coherent combination of form and function and its perfect mix of materials, offering an unmissable comfort you want to enjoy immediately. In this it also matches the mindset of its creator Henrik Pedersen. For the trained fashion designer, who fortunately knew how to show not only fabrics in their best light but also shines cross-over in other fields, it is crucial to rely on common sense and a passion for craft: “For me, design has to make sense. Form, colour and choice of materials must complement each other meaningfully in every single design”, is Pedersen's credo. That Pedersen's BAY LOUNGE makes sense is beyond dispute. It consists of deck chairs and lounge chairs, two- and three-seater lounge sofas as well as stools and footstools. Alongside the sun loungers, the exceptional coffee and side tables complete the exquisite collection. The frames of the furniture, the tables and the tabletops are made of the finest teak. Thanks to its expert surface treatment, the precious wood displays a captivatingly beautiful sheen. For Gloster, incidentally, it goes without saying that every teak tree used was itself planted. This ensures that the wood used is plantation teak and not illegally felled timber.
