The brand's roots reach back to 1960 in West Africa; since the late 1980s production has taken place in Indonesia – where access to plantation-grown teak has decisively shaped Gloster's development. Gloster tells this heritage as a „sustainable story“ from teak cultivation through processing to the finished piece of furniture – with the ambition that sustainability and Gloster belong together.
