THONET bar stool • Programme S 162 H
Elegant, comfortable and available in a wide range of versions: Programme S 160 was developed for furnishing event spaces, canteens and residential-style contract areas. The chairs can be stacked closely (up to 17 units) and feature a connecting mechanism that links them together simply, securely, space-savingly and without tools (Thonet patent). With a low or high back and various upholstery options, S 160 offers a broad range of applications. A variant with wooden legs (160) turns the popular multi-purpose chair into a residential-style chair for contract use, for example in cosily furnished cafés. There is also a filigree and particularly comfortable bar stool (S 160 H) for the hospitality sector and for working at high tables.
The THONET S 162 H bar stool stands on a chrome-plated four-legged frame made of tubular steel and carries a seat shell made of moulded plywood. It is available in the following versions: unupholstered, seat with mirror upholstery, mirror upholstery on seat and back, and full upholstery. Seat height is 75 cm unupholstered and 76 cm in the upholstered versions. The unupholstered version is stackable; for the upholstered versions, the manufacturer states stackability as available on request. Plastic glides are included as standard, felt glides are available for an additional charge, and further stain shades of Beech II are also available for an additional charge.

Mirror upholstery: With mirror upholstery, only the inner side is upholstered – precisely the area where you sit and lean back. The back of the seat shell remains visible in wood or plastic. This keeps the chair light and filigree while still noticeably improving seating comfort.
Full upholstery: With full upholstery, the seat shell is covered all round with fabric or leather, including the back. The wood surface is then no longer visible. This gives the chair a softer, calmer and more residential feel than the mirror upholstery version.
Row connection: Chairs designed for row linking can be joined side by side into fixed rows of seating without tools. This is required wherever large numbers of people sit together: in halls, churches, canteens or conference rooms. The Thonet connection is patented and complies with DIN EN 14703 for row seating including panic-release safety – in an emergency, the row can be cleared quickly and safely.
