The MG501 Cuba Chair is a fascinating example of Morten Gøttler's innovative and straightforward approach to modern furniture design. The design embodies a fresh, contemporary aesthetic based on the democratic principles of modernism. Inspired by royal thrones, the low, open chair asserts itself confidently within a room. The simple, lightweight folding design allows for flexibility while offering excellent comfort, with a close-fitting seat surface that fully embraces the contours of the body. The Cuba Chair Outdoor is an important part of Carl Hansen & Søn's long-standing furniture collection and has been relaunched in rich, untreated teak with a weather-resistant flat cord. The solid teak frame has been reworked for outdoor use. It contains a high proportion of natural oils, which develop a characteristic patina over time. The steel fittings ensure a long service life, and the functional, woven flat cord is weather-resistant.
The MG501 Outdoor is made in a single version: solid teak, untreated. The seat and backrest are made of woven outdoor flat cord, available in two colours: Charcoal 1402 and Sesame 083. The Cuba Chair is also available in several versions for indoor use.
