Carl Hansen BM0121 Table
Børge Mogensen designed the BM0121 Dining Table in 1952, seating 4–6 people, as a solution for smaller homes. Mogensen's table is the first extendable round table in the Carl Hansen & Søn collection. It is made from solid oak and, thanks to a 19 mm thick table top, slightly tapering legs and an upward-curving underside edge, has a particularly light appearance. Børge Mogensen was ahead of his time in many respects, and his elegant, functional design approach served as an outstanding model for Scandinavian minimalism in the decades that followed. As no original drawings of this model exist, Carl Hansen & Søn recreated the BM0121 Dining Table by carefully measuring an older original model.
The BM0121 has a solid wood table top and a solid wood frame. The oak is available in four versions: soaped, oiled, white oiled or lacquered. The table has an extension for a leaf; this is ordered separately and is available for an additional charge in MDF Grey, MDF Black, or in oak in the same finish. The wood grain of the leaf may differ from that of the dining table top.
