The ONDA Dining Sofa by Bernhard Müller is neither a bench nor a sofa, but a seating solution for the dining table. This set combines a base element of your choice with the Swing — an upholstered element with a 15° bend and a length of 150 cm, which turns the straight line into a soft curve.
The Swing is only available in combination with a base element. That is why we supply it as a complete set: you choose the length of the base element, the cover and the orientation of the swing — both elements come in the same fabric.
The continuous backrest is always set back 30 cm at the sides and does not align with the seat surface. The upholstery is fully ecological in construction — sisal webbing, coconut fibres, cold foam with castor oil and sheep's wool. The feet, in black powder-coated steel (Ø 16 mm), are height-adjustable by up to 3 cm.
A choice of 76 covers is available from the Flash, Clunis, Gent, Jette, Rami, Spa and Loop fabric collections. Customer's own fabric on request.
Which base element suits the Swing? The Swing extends the seating line by 150 cm and leads it 15° out of the straight. Our recommendation, calculated with 60 cm seat width per person:
- Base element 125 cm — seating line 275 cm, approx. 5 seats
- Base element 150 cm — seating line 300 cm, approx. 5 seats
- Base element 175 cm — seating line 325 cm, approx. 5 seats
- Base element 200 cm — seating line 350 cm, approx. 6 seats
- Base element 225 cm — seating line 375 cm, approx. 6 seats
- Base element 250 cm — seating line 400 cm, approx. 7 seats
- Base element 275 cm — seating line 425 cm, approx. 7 seats
- Base element 300 cm — seating line 450 cm, approx. 8 seats
For round and oval tables, a shorter base element of 125 to 175 cm tends to work best — the curve then follows the shape of the tabletop. For long rectangular tables, choose 225 to 300 cm, so the straight section covers the table and the curve extends out into the room.
