The LAX secretary desk carries the design language of the LAX collection over to the workspace: the same characteristic crossed steel legs, the same calm solid wood top. In essence it is a question dressed up as a radically reduced piece of furniture — when did you last sit down and write a letter?
The continuous, solid wood top is made from glued boards, is 2.8 cm thick and milled down to 1.8 cm in places. This creates a work surface height of 73 cm at a table height of 74 cm — the top becomes a shallow shell. The grain runs lengthways.
A brass insert, brushed matt, is set into the milled surface. Beneath it hides a small secret compartment for valuables or useful items. The frame is made of brushed steel, powder-coated in anthracite.
