more BLOW bed
With the BLOW by Bernhard Müller, the mattress takes centre stage — whether thick or thin. The solid wood frame with rounded corners appears to float above the floor, and also lets the bed work well in the role of a box-spring bed. Behind it stands the upholstered back panel, as wide as a room wall and reaching far beyond the sleeping surface.
The bed frame and back panel are only available together — both are included in every version of this item. You first choose the frame height: 14 cm for the flat, floating line, or 18 cm if a higher mattress or easier entry is preferred. Then the mattress size, from 140 to 200 × 200 cm, and the back panel dimensions — 250, 300 or 350 cm wide, 110 or 130 cm high.
The bed frame is 1 cm narrower and shorter on the inside than the mattress size; the recess depth is either 12 or 16 cm. The surface is chosen from 19 wood tones according to the more sample card — natural and light oak, the two wenge tones, eleven special oak tones including smoked oak, as well as American walnut, each available oiled and waxed or matt lacquered.
The back panel is upholstered and permanently covered; the cover is not removable. The reverse is covered with more's blind fabric. For the cover, 121 fabrics and leathers are available across six price groups — Linara, Clunis, Gent, Jette, Loop, Rami and Spa, as well as the leathers Orta, Idro, Lugano and Garda.
Which back panel suits which bed?
The only requirement is the minimum width: mattress size + 10 cm — meaning any of the three widths can be ordered with any bed size. The difference lies in how much of the upholstered panel remains visible to the left and right of the bed. The bed frame is 2.6 cm wider on the outside than the mattress size, which gives, per side:
- 250 cm back panel — with 140 cm, around 54 cm per side; with 160 cm, around 44 cm: enough for a narrow bedside table. With 180 cm, 34 cm remain; with 200 cm, only 24 cm — the panel then frames the bed quite tightly, leaving no free space for a bedside table in front.
- 300 cm back panel — our recommendation for 160 cm (69 cm per side) and 180 cm (59 cm per side): a bedside table fits comfortably in front of the upholstered panel on both sides.
- 350 cm back panel — our recommendation for 200 cm (74 cm per side), and the choice when the upholstered panel is meant to span the entire room wall at 140 or 160 cm.
As for height: 110 cm reads as a headboard behind the bed, while 130 cm acts as a wall that frames the room — the choice when the bed stands freely in the room.
Slatted frame and mattress are not included. For beds longer than 200 cm, choose the extended length of 210 or 220 cm.
On request: bespoke dimensions for frame and back panel — the dimensions of the upholstered panel can generally be freely planned, with a minimum width of mattress size + 10 cm. The same applies to the panel upholstered on the reverse in fabric or leather, turning the bed into a room divider, as well as colour and staining shades to approval sample and covers made from customer-supplied fabric.
