more B14 coffee table | round
Originally designed for the Lincoln Restaurant in Manhattan, and now also on view at the more Showroom in Hamburg: B14 is a design by Bernhard Müller from 2009. As a coffee table, it brings the same idea closer to the floor.
The round top has no corner for anything to get in the way of. Two heights can be pushed into one another: the lower table slides underneath the top of the taller one.
The top is a glued-board, continuous solid wood top 2.8 cm thick. Towards the edge it is chamfered from below, leaving a narrow visible edge of 1 cm – the solid top looks much lighter from the side than it actually is.
It is carried by a steel centre column, black powder-coated, on a round base plate 60 cm in diameter and just 6 mm high. Two table heights are available, 30 or 45 cm – for standing side by side or overlapping.
Available in 21 wood versions in oak, ash and American walnut, with the surface oiled and waxed or matt lacquered.
