The S 260 meets the strict standards of modern large-scale seating as well as the aesthetic demands of contemporary design. Its distinctive feature is the simplified ganging mechanism, which allows straightforward row connections. Large rooms can be used particularly economically thanks to the space-saving connection and the option of stacking the chair vertically. These features give the S 260, available both with and without armrests, essential advantages in terms of space. The S 260 can be joined into rows in an intelligent way and without tools. Thanks to the special construction of the frames, the chairs barely need to be lifted for this, allowing very fast ganging. In accordance with the DIN 14703 standard, the S 260 meets all requirements for row seating, including panic-release safety. A stacking trolley is also available for easy handling.
The S 260 is the version with a seat shell made of polypropylene and without armrests. The shell rests on a chrome-plated four-legged frame made of tubular steel; plastic glides are included. Two versions are available: unupholstered (S 260) or with mirror upholstery on the seat (S 260 SP). The chair is stackable and can be joined into rows. The version with armrests is called the S 260 F, while the models with a moulded plywood shell are the S 262 and S 264.

Mirror upholstery: With mirror upholstery, only the inner side is upholstered – exactly the area where you sit and lean back. The reverse of the seat shell remains visible in wood or plastic. This keeps the chair light and slender while still noticeably improving seating comfort.
Row connection: Chairs that can be joined into rows can be linked sideways into fixed rows without tools. This is required wherever many people sit together: in halls, churches, canteens or conference rooms. The Thonet connection is patented and meets the DIN EN 14703 standard for row seating, including panic-release safety – in an emergency, the row can be cleared quickly and safely.
