The S 260 meets the strict standards of modern high-volume seating as well as the aesthetic demands of contemporary design. Its special feature is the simplified linking mechanism, which allows uncomplicated row connections. Large rooms can be used particularly economically thanks to the space-saving connection and the option of stacking the chair vertically. These properties give the S 260, available both with and without armrests, essential advantages in terms of floor space. The S 260 can be linked into rows in an intelligent way and without tools. Thanks to the special construction of the frames, the chairs barely need to be lifted to do so, allowing very quick linking. In accordance with the DIN 14703 standard, the S 260 meets all requirements for row linking – including panic-release safety. A stacking trolley is also available for easy handling.
The S 262 F is the version with armrests: the armrests are made of black plastic. The seat shell in moulded plywood rests on a chrome-plated four-legged frame made of tubular steel. Four versions are available: unupholstered (S 262 F), with mirror upholstery on the seat (S 262 SPF), with mirror upholstery on seat and back (S 262 PF), or fully upholstered (S 262 PVF). The shell is finished in Beech I; the wood surface is not present with full upholstery. The chair is stackable and can be linked into rows; without armrests, the model is called S 262.

Mirror upholstery: With mirror upholstery, only the inner side is upholstered – precisely the surface you sit and lean on. The back of the seat shell remains visible in wood or plastic. This keeps the chair light and slender while still gaining noticeably in seating comfort.
Full upholstery: With full upholstery, the seat shell is covered all round in fabric or leather, including the back. The wood surface is then no longer visible. This gives the chair a softer, calmer and more homely look than with mirror upholstery.
Row linking: Chairs designed for row linking can be connected side by side into fixed rows without tools. This is required wherever many people sit together: in halls, churches, canteens or conference rooms. The Thonet connection is patented and meets the DIN EN 14703 standard for row seating, including panic-release safety – allowing the row to be cleared quickly and safely in an emergency.
