The S 260 meets the strict standards of modern large-scale seating as well as the aesthetic demands of contemporary design. Its distinguishing feature is the simplified ganging mechanism, which allows straightforward row connections. Thanks to the space-saving connection and the option to stack the chair vertically, large rooms can be used particularly efficiently. These properties give the S 260, available with or without armrests, essential advantages in terms of floor space. The S 260 can be linked into rows intelligently and without tools. Thanks to the special construction of the frames, the chairs barely need to be lifted for this, allowing very fast ganging. In accordance with DIN 14703, the S 260 meets all requirements for row seating, including panic-release safety. A stacking trolley is also available for easy handling.
The S 262 has a seat shell in moulded plywood on a chrome-plated four-legged frame in tubular steel. Four versions are available: without upholstery (S 262), with mirror upholstery on the seat (S 262 SP), with mirror upholstery on seat and back (S 262 P), or fully upholstered (S 262 PV). The shell is finished in beech I; the wood surface is not present in the fully upholstered version. Plastic glides are included; felt glides are available at extra cost. The chair is stackable and can be ganged into rows; the version with armrests is called S 262 F.

Mirror upholstery: With mirror upholstery, only the inside is upholstered – precisely the surface you sit and lean on. The back of the seat shell remains visible in wood or plastic. This keeps the chair light and slender while still noticeably improving seating comfort.
Full upholstery: With full upholstery, the seat shell is covered all round in fabric or leather, including the back. The wood surface is then no longer visible. This gives the chair a softer, calmer and more homely feel than the mirror-upholstered version.
Row connection: Chairs suitable for ganging can be joined side by side into fixed rows without tools. This is required wherever many people sit together: in halls, churches, canteens or conference rooms. The Thonet connection is patented and meets the DIN EN 14703 standard for row seating, including panic-release safety – allowing the row to be cleared quickly and safely in an emergency.
