"The Caribbean, the streets of Cuba, afternoons drinking rum, relaxation and warmth were the inspiration," explains Alfonso Gallego, the designer of the Havana dining armchair. Contrast is the key to this piece, which consists of a lacquered aluminium structure covered with woven Shintotex, an extremely resistant, recyclable fibre developed by POINT. The curved forms of this piece are meant to fold around us, and as in the best photographs, black and white take centre stage in the weave, creating patterns full of rhythm.
