Two levels, one expression – the Phoenix collection by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso
Two tables, two levels, a flowing dialogue between form and function. Phoenix, designed for Moroso, consists of low side tables whose organically shaped table tops overlap and glide gently into one another – like two-dimensional projections of natural silhouettes. The result is a composition that unites irregularity and harmony. The material and colour of the table top give the ensemble depth and character – every detail testifies to a sensitive balance between lightness and structure. The name Phoenix plays with opposites: it does not recall the mythical bird rising from the ashes, but the visions of science fiction – new forms emerging from familiar ideas.
Available with a frame of powder-coated steel or wood and in two heights (27 or 33 cm), the egg-shaped side tables offer a variety of design possibilities. The table tops come in either Laminam® or veneered Alpi® – materials that subtly underline the interplay of form and identity.
