The Oscar shelf by Ethnicraft combines generous storage space with an exceptional design language full of character. Its asymmetric division into open compartments and closed areas creates a lively overall picture and makes the shelf an expressive piece of furniture for modern living and working areas.
The Oscar shelf was designed by Alain van Havre. Particularly striking is the unusual division of the individual compartments, which gives the shelf a rhythmic and varied structure. Five sliding doors make it possible to change open and closed areas individually and to give the piece a new look again and again.
A special detail are the fine grooves in the door fronts. Every single groove is carefully carved by hand, which creates slight differences in the surface. Each Oscar shelf thus takes on an individual character shaped by craftsmanship.
The combination of natural teak, black-tinted teak and black metal legs provides a striking contrast. At the same time the natural grain of the wood remains visible and gives the shelf a warm, high-quality appeal. At a height of 195 cm, the Oscar shelf offers plenty of room for books, decorative objects and personal items.
Material
The Oscar shelf is made from natural solid teak and black-tinted solid teak. The black metal legs form a clear contrast to the warm wood surface. Parts of the natural teak are left untreated so that the natural colour, grain and feel of the material come into their own.
