Ethnicraft BRUTALIST coffee table
Ethnicraft Brutalist coffee table
The Brutalist coffee table by Ethnicraft combines a powerful, architectural design language with the natural warmth of solid mahogany. Its striking silhouette and the purposefully worked openings create an engaging interplay of solid surfaces and open spaces and give the table a particularly sculptural presence.
The Brutalist coffee table was designed by Alain van Havre. The design takes up the expressive aesthetic of brutalism and interprets it as a functional piece for modern living spaces. The solid wooden elements provide presence and stability, while the cut-in negative spaces give the table visual lightness and depth.
At a length of 143 cm, the Brutalist coffee table offers a generous surface for books, magazines, drinks and decorative home accessories. Its low height of 37 cm underlines its horizontal, calm effect and makes it a striking centrepiece for generous sofa arrangements.
The Rose Brown colouring brings out the natural grain of the mahogany and gives the table additional warmth and depth. The combination of a strong form, dark wood surface and sculptural cut-outs makes the Brutalist coffee table a characterful piece for modern, architecturally minded living areas.
Material
The Brutalist coffee table is made entirely from solid mahogany. The wood species used is Swietenia macrophylla from Indonesia. The surface is given a Rose Brown colouring and finished with a protective polyurethane lacquer. The finish emphasises the natural grain of the wood while protecting the surface in everyday use.
