Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the VLA62 Radio House Mirror in 1945 exclusively for the Royal Retiring Room in the then newly built Copenhagen Radio House. The room served as a royal chamber adjoining the royal box overlooking the building's concert hall, which today houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Lauritzen designed every single piece of furniture for this room himself, just as he was responsible for the entire building as its architect and designer — from the door handle and the railing to the lamps and furniture. The full-body mirror in FSC™-certified solid oak, with a rounded, concave frame, is ideal for the hallway. It is made up of eight carved pieces, jointed together so that the characteristic grain runs continuously, and is hand-sanded.
