Borea is a modern and versatile garden furniture collection designed by Piero Lissoni. The pieces have a metal frame formed from tubes with a flowing, seamless design, without joints or interruptions. To invent a collection with an unmistakable style, new technologies typically used in aviation were employed in the manufacture of the Borea. The lounge collection comprises two- and three-seater sofas, a large armchair, a low small armchair and a dining chair, all elements fitted with a stackable lacquered aluminium frame. Comfort is provided by generous cushions that are not only soft and relaxing but were also developed sustainably. The cushions consist of a filling of polyester fibres obtained from recycled PET plastic bottles which envelop a core of polyurethane of differing densities. Upholstering a Borea three-seater sofa requires 510 bottles of 1500 ml, the two-seater sofa 390 bottles and the armchair 280.
