SALO is a shelf that stands in the room rather than filling it. Solid wood shelves, with nothing between them but slender steel rods of 12 mm diameter, powder-coated in anthracite. The eye looks straight through, and the shelves appear to float. Bernhard Müller brought the idea back from a Finnish birch forest in 2021 — axes that reorder themselves with every step.
SALO comes in three heights — with 2, 3 or 5 shelf levels — and in six lengths each, from 180 to 300 cm. The low shelf with two levels stays below windowsill height at 41 cm and can also be used as a room divider or as a long console behind a sofa; the tall version with five levels holds a whole library at 152 cm. The depth is always 42 cm, with 35 cm between two shelves.
The shelves are available in oak or ash, in one of the special oak tones or in American walnut — each oiled and waxed or matt lacquered.
Please note: for the tall SALO shelf with 5 levels, stability cannot be guaranteed if it is positioned freestanding in the room. more recommends positioning it against a wall and securing it with a wall fixing.

- Number of connecting rods depends on construction and length: 7 to 9 rods with 2 shelves, 14 to 18 with 3 shelves, 28 to 36 with 5 shelves
- Adjustable levelling feet
- Tall shelf with 5 levels: stability is not guaranteed when freestanding — wall fixing recommended
