In this classic among bar stools, bentwood meets tubular steel. The Legs of the stool are made from beech using a traditional bending process, while a tubular steel ring gives the bar stool extra stability and serves as a footrest for greater seating comfort. The round Seat surface is available as a smooth contoured seat or in an upholstered version. The robust Wood and durable cover fabric make the stool a versatile, sociable companion, whether at home or in a restaurant.
The THONET 204 bar stool stands on a four-legged Frame made of bent beech Wood. The round Seat surface is available in three versions: as a contoured seat made of moulded plywood, as a seat made of cane Weave with a plastic support fabric beneath the seat, and as a seat with partial Upholstery. All three are 43 cm wide, 83 cm high and weigh 4.5 kg. The Wood comes in beech I, with further stain shades in beech II available at extra cost; the cane Weave is also available in DARK MELANGE. Plastic Glides are included; felt Glides are available at extra cost.

Partial upholstery: With partial upholstery, only the inside is upholstered – precisely the area where you sit and lean back. The back of the Seat shell remains visible in Wood or plastic. This keeps the chair light and slender while noticeably improving seating comfort.
Contoured seat: The contoured seat is a Seat surface made of moulded plywood that is slightly recessed towards the centre rather than flat. This means you sit somewhat within the surface rather than just on it: weight is distributed better, and you don't slide forward. More comfortable than a flat wooden board – and entirely without padding. This is denoted by the letter "M" in the model name, for example in 214 M or 118 M.
