The outdoor tables of the Saarinen collection feature a top in white Acrylic stone on the original die-cast aluminium base, available with a white or black Rilsan coating. Acrylic stone is a solid material made from aluminium hydroxide, acrylic resin and natural pigments: the aluminium hydroxide makes the top firm, while the acrylic resin keeps the surface closed so that water cannot penetrate and the top remains suitable for contact with food. Of all the Saarinen tables, only the versions with an Acrylic stone top are suitable for outdoor use; marble, laminate and veneer remain indoors. The Acrylic stone top is 2 cm thick. Top and base are delivered separately. The "Knoll" logo sits on the underside of the base, with a nameplate bearing the "Knoll Studio" logo and Saarinen's signature beneath the top.
At 64 cm high, the outdoor lounge tables sit between a coffee table and a dining table, and suit garden armchairs and lounge sofas used for dining. Two diameters, 91 and 107 cm, with a white Acrylic stone top on a white or black base.
